Pilsen is nice for a day trip from Prague to see the brewery, synagogue and other highlights, but it isn't the best base for seeing things around, IMO. Costs about 42 czk, or less than 2 euros. Take train S2 from Brno Hl. n. to Blankso (we had to leave from a different station, Brno Zidenice since there's some construction at the main train station). Take bus 226 from Blansko to Skalni Mlyn.
